Grading Symbols and Teacher feedback
When assignments are graded, teacher feedback may be provided in a variety of ways. Below are some examples of how teacher feedback may appear on students work. Students should pay close attention to teacher feedback in order to improve their work.
Grading Feedback: (To re-do your work)
Symbols that may be used by your teacher when grading work:
Some assignments use special symbols/feedback. Always read the directions carefully.
X = Did not attempt response (answer left blank)
R = Incorrect (redo the question/problem)
C = Correct (response is correct and meets objective)
PC = Partially Correct (parts of the response are correct)
NA = Not Applicable (response does not work and/or does not apply to the question)
INC = Incomplete (needs more information)
? = Cannot be understood (Please re-write in proper English with readable handwriting)
+ = Good effort (response may or may not be correct, but effort is clearly demonstrated)
OTHER: Some assignments use special feedback. Always read the directions provided on each assignment.
Assignment Grades: Design Folder homework and classwork
Formative Tasks are frequently graded as Pass/Fail. The grade on an assignment may be one of the following:
X (0) = assignment handed in blank
INC (50) = incomplete (minimal effort and/or does not meet objective)
R (60) = shows effort but fails to meet objective - REDO within one week to improve grade
P- (70) = passing, but needs improvement to fully meet objective
P (80) = passing, demonstrates competency in meeting the objective
P+ (85-90) = passing with above average competency
H (95-100) = demonstrates mastery of the objective with a high overall quality
Rough Equivalents: X = 0, INC = 50 R = 60, P- = 70, P = 80, P+ = 85-90, H = 95-100
