GRADE 6 DESIGN/TECH UNIT

World of Engineering
This unit explores the how engineers affect the world we live in. Engineers and the work they do are key to everyday life. This design cycle unit uses bridges to show how humans create the world  around us. In this unit, students learn how engineers solve problems by adapting resources and working collaboratively. A key concept in this unit will be form that engineered solutions take.

Students working in design teams inquire and analyze how engineers solve technological problems, develop a possible solutions to an engineering problem (make design documents), create their solution using resources, and evaluate their solution.

What this unit teaches:
Engineers solve real life problems by creating solutions that take on different forms based on the collaboration of others and the adaptation of resources.
